Spring & Summer 2010

The fashion designer Phoebe Philo is the cover star of The Gentlewoman's premier issue. Inside is a portfolio of Phoebe modelling her favourite items from her first Céline collection photographed by David Sims and an intimate interview exploring her new fashion aesthetic. She is featured alongside sensational profiles of architect Kazuyo Sejima of SANAA, amazing artist Jenny Holzer, Spanish winemaker Sara Pérez and stylish DJ Princess Julia – all powerful role models, setting new agendas in their respective fields. The magazine’s own proposed style agenda is also unpacked in the first edition, via delicious fashion stories focused on highly specific sartorial matters. Photographers Alasdair McLellan, Willy Vanderperre, Liz Collins, Daniel Riera and Benjamin Alexander Huseby lend their individual perspectives to hair knots, shorts, classic jewellery, flat clothes and underwear for spring.
