Deborah Orr

Deborah Orr was born in the burgh of Motherwell, a post-industrial Scottish town located to the south east of Glasgow. After joining the arts magazine City Limits as Deputy Editor in 1990, Deborah went on to write for several publications including The Independent, New Statesman and The Guardian; she edited the Guardian Weekend magazine from 1993 to 1998. A beloved contributor to The Gentlewoman, Deborah passed away in 2019.
