Born and raised in Houston, Texas, Beyoncé Knowles-Carter is the preeminent pop superstar of the 21st Century. She rose to fame in the late 1990s as one part of the R&B group Destiny’s Child, one of the best-selling girl-groups of all time. Beyoncé released her solo debut album Dangerously in Love in 2003 and since then her career has scaled stratospheric heights – her performance at the 2013 Superbowl was watched by 104 million TV viewers. She lives in Manhattan with her music mogul husband Jay-Z and their children, Blue Ivy, Rumi and Sir.
