Yoko Ono
Yoko Ono is a visionary Japanese artist, musician, filmmaker, writer and activist. Her creative output and unwavering commitment to social justice and world peace continue to inspire generations. Yoko’s immensely popular Wish Tree is installed in 10 major art institutions around the world, and she has been the subject of major retrospectives at the Whitney Museum, New York, the Kunsthalle Bielefeld, Germany, and the Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art in England. In 2009 Yoko was honoured with a lifetime achievement award at the Venice biennale, while in 2012 she was the receipt of the Oskar Kokoschka Prize, Austria's highest award for applied contemporary art. Yoko remains one of the most intriguing voices of our time.
