Wolfgang Tillmans
German artist and photographer Wolfgang Tillmans is one of the pre-eminent image-makers of the last 20 years. His investigation of photography’s capabilities, from its production through to its display, has produced a compelling body of work and resulted in him being the first photographer, and non-English person, to be awarded the Turner Prize in 2000. Wolfgang has published numerous books and has works in the permanent collections of institutions such as MoMA, Tate, Stedelijk Museum and Centre Pompidou. Wolfgang is represented by the equally pioneering gallerist Maureen Paley.
