Pashon Murray
Entrepreneur Pashon Murray does good, while doing good. The business major and proud resident of Motor City established Detroit Dirt in 2011 with an aim to revitalise local communities and neighbourhoods by reducing their refuse. From zoo waste to restaurant scraps, Pashon turns the city’s by-products into mineral-rich compost, which in turn helps the city’s blossoming community gardens. Her go-to heavy machinery is a Ford 555D backhoe – best for loading big deliveries, she says. Evangelical about the environment, Pashon has spoken at conferences and institutions such as the Global Enterprise Summit and Michigan Institute of Technology.
