Kate Phelan
In 1986, as a student at Central Saint Martin’s, Kate Phelan undertook a three-month work placement at British Vogue. And never went back to school. Kate accepted a full-time job assisting the fashion editor Sarahjane Hoare at the magazine, where she continues today as contributing fashion editor. In between she has also been a fashion editor for Marie Claire and creative director of Topshop. Away for the hubbub of fashion, Kate enjoys tending to her allotment in Putney Vale where she grows aubergines, potatoes and cabbages.
