[01] Tara
Our fastest racer, Tara Woolnough means business. Running for just over a year and a half, she is currently training to do her third half marathon. The 27-year-old from Clapham, south London, likes to run in leggings and a sports bra, weather permitting. Here she gives her hamstrings a pre-race workout.

[02] Jennie
Pushing out those side planks it’s Jennie Matuszek, a 35-year-old TV producer for Al Jazeera. Jennie is a long distance pro, having run since her teens. She’s completed over 25 races so far this year – wow!

[08] Yuvali
Yuvali Theis is a mad-keen sportsperson. She runs, she plays rugby and is partial to some Vinyasa and slow-flow yoga. On the morning of the 10KM, the 25-year-old postgraduate student ate a champion breakfast of oats, banana and peanut butter before nailing the race in 00.51.21.

[16] Scarlett
Now this is dedication: Scarlett Cunningham got straight off a plane from Cuba the morning of the 10KM to run with Team Gentlewoman – impressive! Scarlett, 23, has been running since she was 16 and this was her third official race. She completed it in 00.57.20. Olé!

[03] Sarah
Here’s Sarah Johnson gamely demonstrating some star jumps. The 28-year-old is originally from Australia and works in London as a publicist for Starworks Group. On the morning of the race, she ate homemade bircher muesli with berries to put some extra spring in her step.

[04] Harriet
Harriet Baker is 24 and joins us from Finsbury Park in north London. Harriet hated sports at school, but after getting a taster while at university she’s now been running for two years and this race marks her second 10KM. See, it’s never too late to start.

[09] Emer
On the morning of the Nike Women’s 10KM London, 25-year-old Dublin-native Emer ate a hearty scrambled eggs and mushrooms for breakfast. Here, she’s stretching out those calf muscles before the race, which she went on to complete in 00.60.02.

[10] Renee
Yoga enthusiast Renee Rowland, 31, is living the dream! Having packed up her job in the City (no, seriously) she’ll spend the next two years travelling the world as she cycles back to her native New Zealand. But first, there’s the small matter of 10KM to run.

Letizia Bini

[05] Heather
Heather Taylor Portmann, 30, likes to push herself into unknown territories. Before she signed up for the race, her sole competitive run saw her being outpaced by a 9-year-old boy dressed as a pirate. Undeterred, Heather returned and completed the Nike 10KM in a spectacular 57 minutes. We like her moxy!

[06] Elizabeth
Elizabeth “Lizard” Sims believes in the Three Ps: Practise, Perseverance and Porridge. Add a pumping soundtrack courtesy of Queens of the Stone Age and you have the winning formula that saw her complete the 10KM in a zippy 00.46.28. Watch her go!

[07] Lizzie
Lizzie Chancellor is The Gentlewoman’s super-efficient office manager. Here she is swinging into action with some frenetic toe-touches. This was Lizzie’s first race ever, which she ran in an impressive 00.58.28. Lizzie can’t wait to do another, in fact, she hasn’t stopped running since – go for it, girlfriend!

[11] Letizia
Letizia Bini made her official racing debut at the Nike Women’s 10KM London. The 31-year-old architect from Italy has been running for just over a year and completed the full circuit in smashing 00.56.32. Get it girl!

Penny Martin

[12] Liv
Early bird Liv Taylor likes nothing better than a morning run to greet a new day. Liv, who’s 25 and originally from Northamptonshire, usually trains solo but has found running with like-minded sportswomen has really upped her game!

[17] Eve
This may be Eve Izaak’s first 10KM run, but the indefatigable 24-year-old is no stranger to competitive sports. She did her first triathlon aged 14. Eve considers herself more of a cyclist than a runner – she works for the cycle-wear brand Rapha – but that doesn’t stop her from running 5KM to work every day.

[18] Penny
It all started off in San Francisco for Penny, when she ran the Nike Women’s half marathon in 2013. Two years later and it’s weekly training sessions with her local running club in South Ealing and three 10KM races under her belt. Watch out next season!

Lucie Watts

[13] Amy
Amy Basil has been training with The Gentlewoman Running Club from its very first season in the winter of 2014. A documentary film producer from Hampshire, she likes to listen to podcasts while running. Her favourite stretch is the downward dog.

[14] Rebecca
Another gentlewoman runner makes their racing debut! It may only be her first official race, but Rebecca Griffith, 26, from Stoke Newington, knows her running gear, favouring long sleek leggings for extra velocity.

[15] Lucie
Lucie Watts swears by the superfood almonds. The 32-year-old from Brighton began running six months ago and completed the Nike Women’s 10KM London in 00.58.28! Show us the way to Whole Foods.
